Mining

Using a rented GPU

Run the worker on a cloud GPU instance.

You can mine on a rented cloud GPU. Rental costs are yours and can exceed your rewards. Read Costs first.

Choose an instance

  • An RTX 30, 40 or 50 series GPU (sm86, sm89 or sm120)
  • Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04 with the NVIDIA driver preinstalled
  • SSH access and outbound HTTPS

Many providers offer images with drivers and Docker ready. Check that nvidia-smi works after you connect.

Install and start

Terminal
$ curl -fsSL https://www.ore-compute.pro/downloads/worker/latest/install.sh -o install.sh
$ bash install.sh
$ ore start --wallet 0xYOUR_PUBLIC_ADDRESS --worker cloud01 --device 0

The worker prints a pairing link. Open it on your own computer, sign in and approve. Or use the guided setup, which gives you a one-time setup code.

Keep it running

Use ore start (background) and check with ore status. If the instance restarts, run ore start again; the saved worker token is reused.

Notes

  • Never put a wallet private key on a rented machine. The worker does not need one.
  • Containers without the NVIDIA runtime cannot reach the GPU. Use the native runtime or a host with the NVIDIA Container Toolkit.
