FAQ

Short answers to common questions.

Is mining profitable?

Nobody can promise that. Rewards depend on everyone's mining in a season, the reward token's value can fall, and your costs are your own.

Can I transfer or sell ORE?

No. ORE is a non-transferable record with no market value.

Do I need to keep my computer on for the whole season?

No. Each UTC day is split by that day's accepted work. You earn for the days and hours your workers mine.

Does the worker need my private key?

No. Never enter a private key or seed phrase on a GPU machine. The worker uses a revocable worker token.

Why do I see "public mining has not opened"?

Public mining opens after a complete recorded run on the Status page: GPU self-test, accepted proofs, season close, funded vault and a successful claim.

Is Ore Compute affiliated with Robinhood or NVIDIA?

No. See Data and trust.

Who answers my Playground messages?

A third-party model provider. Miners do not process AI requests.
